Why Live Streaming Is Outperforming Fan Platforms

The collab with Wet Ink Magazine continues, and we're glad to be sharing today's article. It takes a hard look at one of the most common beliefs in the industry: something most creators just accept as true without ever stopping to question it. This time, though, there's real data to back it up: more than 550 creators surveyed across three countries.
Give it a read, it might change how you think about your own setup.
Why Camming Is Quietly Winning
Everyone in adult has a theory about why their income dropped this year. Age-verification laws. Debanking. Social accounts deleted overnight. The usual suspects, lining up in the usual order. But while fan-platform creators spent the year watching their numbers slide, one group quietly held the line: cammers.
SWR Data's latest State of the Creator survey, 550+ creators across the US, UK, and Canada, found dedicated live streamers were the most likely to report income growth and the least likely to say earning got harder. Nearly half said it was the same or easier than last year. Among fan-site creators? Just thirty percent.
The reason isn't complicated. Cam platforms bring the audience to the performer. So when the chaos hits the people who built their whole funnel on social media take the damage, cammers barely flinch. They ranked social media censorship as their least significant challenge. Everyone else ranked it first.
